Come CELEBRATE
the end of Summer 2012 with us on August 3 at 6pm!

It's summer time which is the most wonderful time of the year at Breakthrough New York. Check out some of the great things happening at BTNY!
BTNY'ers Explore All the Options

This past Thursday, we celebrated Options Day at BTNY. Our seventh graders visited career sites all over the city while our eighth graders practiced their mock interview skills. Meanwhile, our ninth graders went on a scavenger hunt at Columbia University.

Our thoughts?

"I now know that I want to be a lawyer and study international law so that I can become the US Ambassador to the United Nations."

Special thanks to our hosts: Capital Group Companies, Capital One Bank, Carnegie Corporation, Civic Entertainment, Goldman Sachs, Google, Metropolitan Real Estate, Morgan Stanley, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi, Skadden Arps, Twitter and VOXY.

Thanks to our High School Options Day interviewers: Tony Alleyne, Michele Blackwell, Crystal Backus, Michaela Daniel, Kassim Howell, Johanna Rodriguez and Niraj Shah.
BTNY goes to Brooklyn!

We are proud to announce that our very first summer in Brooklyn is off to a great start with our inaugural class of 32 seventh graders.

We cut the ribbon on our site at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School on June 27th and we have been going full-steam ahead ever since.

"We are thrilled to serve the students of Brooklyn here in Brooklyn. We are so pleased that our first class has started out so strong and will continue to wow and amaze us all," said Alex Brady, Brooklyn Middle School Director.
It's not too late to support the Class of 2018
We appreciate your support in raising funds for our newest class of 64 seventh grade students. Thanks for helping us reach our goal of $30,000 by the end of August. Check out our newest video appeal here!

Thank you for supporting Breakthrough and for your interest in helping the next generation of kids get to college!

Sincerely,
