| Former Breakthrough Miami Teacher
"Just recently, I returned from a nine month fellowship with IDEX Fellowship in Social Enterprise (Affordable Private School Management in Hyderabad, India). Currently, I am working as a community organizer with the Orleans Public Education Network under the direction of former Franklin Summerbridge Director Deirdre Johnson Burel. In the fall, I will be attending Harvard Graduate School of Education in pursuit of an Ed.M in International Education Policy.
As I continue on my journey to make tangible the democratic possibilities of education, I often feel compelled to think of my fellow SBAN alums, who have aided in filling up my ‘educational knapsack’ with opportunities, knowledge and experiences. In the years to come, I hope to be running alongside them in our marathon race for and towards education reform.”

A core part of the success of the Summerbridge/Breakthrough programs is us, the alumni. If our former programs and program members aren’t aware of who we are and what we’ve accomplished, then they cannot promote the success stories that form the foundation of their future.
Tell your story by updating your profile now and connecting with your fellow SBAN members to help each other continue a successful path that leads to enriched lives for us all!
