The Emma L. Bowen Foundation is the nation’s leader in creating career opportunities for people of color within the media industry. Established in 1989, the Emma L. Bowen Foundation is dedicated to creating career opportunities in the media industry for youth of color through programs that focus on scholastic achievement, direct work experience and professional development. Together with our 46 corporate sponsors, our Foundation currently supports more than 200 students each year through an internship program for students of color working in media companies across the country. Our fellows work in a variety of capacities, including the business of media (e.g., sales, HR, PR, community relations), innovation of media (e.g., technology, engineering, digital media), and content of media (e.g., production, news, journalism).
