About Breakthrough Greater Boston's Expansion
After more than 20 years of demonstrated success in Cambridge, Breakthrough Greater Boston will open a site in Boston - ultimately doubling the number of students and teachers benefiting from our services annually. Since 1992, Breakthrough has successfully served over 2,000 students and teachers. For the past five years, 98% of our graduating seniors have matriculated to four-year colleges and over 75% of our teachers have entered careers in urban education.

How do we do it?
Through six years of intensive, tuition-free, out of school time programming, Breakthrough changes students’ academic trajectories. Simultaneously, we build the next generation of teachers through competitive recruitment, research-based training from master teachers, and in-depth classroom experience.
